Hi! Dear Lynn, I am Henk Schellen and I am working as a Building Physical engineer at the Eindhoven University of Technology. By the confirmation of my email adress something goes wrong. Please note it at the bottom of this page. At the moment I am doing a literature research on the heating of monumental churches and their conservation. One of the problems with floor heating in historical churches is the deposition of dust. In one church I am studying the problem of beautiful historical ceiling paintings which will get lost if nothing will be done soon. I think it is a combination of the seed of candles and waxine lights and the naturally driven air flow by floor heating. Looking on internet for the combination of 'dust'and 'deposition' I reached your place. If my problem looks familiar to you or if you know literature sources or physical models to predict the dust deposition as a function of dust concentration, air velocity, ...., please contact me. Thank you for your time. Your's sincerely, Henk Schellen h.l.schellen@bwk.tue.nl Kasteel Aldenghoorstr. 23 6043 XH Roermond

Hi! I am and have always been a huge fan of penguins/sea birds. I am a freshman in college and am undecided as a major. Hearing stories like these pull me towards marine biology etc. I am currently starting to volunteer at the Seattle Aquarium and liking it so far. What I would really like to do is eventually work somewhere like Sea World where I would just keep track of living habits and mainly take care of a variety of penguins. But I'm not sure what the best kinds of classes to take or even if I really need to. Any suggestions or ideas you have would be much appreciated. Thanks, ECHO

My family keeps a book of maps as a record but more as a learning tool for our children. This keeps them reading maps and their interest high. This also helps encourage them to draw their own maps of almost anything that can be mapped. We collect many "maps" that stretch the definition including, for example, the break-down by area of the types of trees in the forests of Wisconsin, time zones, etc. I visited the site because my son is a civil war "buff" in the making. We'll be back! thanks.

Hi! Just a note thank you for the information on the penquin. I am an avid collector of penguins (since 1979)with over 500 pieces (gold, diamond, pewter, brass, porcelain, cotton, etc.) I am working on a book about penguins and their impact on the community. Respectfully will acknowledge you in Bibilography. Request the necessary permission to use some of the photos of the penguins. Let me hear from you.

My name is Alfie and I currently reside in Miami, but I was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I've been here for 8 years, althought it is not strange for me since my parents were raised in New York City;I usually visited the states 5 or six times per year. I'm a 25 year-old "eternal" student with a penchant for travel and a love of history. Right now I'm a Sociology major in College, after an unsuccessful try at Biology. I stumbled upon your Pitcairn Island journal while searching the net for information on the Bounty and the island. It is a personal interest of mine , and one day I wish to visit the island. I want to let you know that I have never been so enraptured in a travel journal as I were with yours...I loved it!!! It must be incredible to have visited a place so far away. Well, I hope you send me a little note back. Bye!!! Alfie.

from Atascadero, California says:

Hi! I found you while researching my dream of traveling to the end of the earth...for New Years Day 2000. When I read your journal entries for Ushuaia, 1992-1993, I resolved to find some way to make it happen. My intension is to tour Tierra del Fuego and the Patagonia by bicycle intermixing boats and trains as expediencies for my lack of time necessary to bicycle from B.A. to Tierra del Fuego. I used to live in Argentina but it has been 34 years and a family raised since I bid farewel to the hustle and bustle of B.A.. Now I look forward to recapturing the rhyhtm the country, its people, and its beautiful Castellano. I can only imagine the splendour of the Andes, the endless expanse of the llanuras, and the press of the relentless wind. I can hardly wait to absorb it in person. If you have any advice or if you can direct me to a resource or put me in contact with someone that could facilitate my preparations, please let me know. Many thanks. Clem Parkin
