Lynn's Adobo Sauce for Beef or Pork

(recipe by TheSalmons)

Ingredients:

When we lived in California, we used to buy something called Adobo Paste (see victor's beef) that came in a jar. It was dark and thick, but I never noticed the detailed ingredients. I wasn't able to find this stuff when we first moved to NY, so after a little web research created the above marinade. It's not the same as the jar stuff, but it's quite good anyway.

Mix all of the above ingredients in a bowl and marinate the meat for approximately two hours. Quantities are approximate, soy sauce is primarily for color and salt.

Remove meat and brown it quickly in a little oil, then reduce heat and add the marinade to the pan.

Cover and simmer slowly for 1-2 hours stirring periodically to prevent sticking.
