Common Potoo (Nyctibius griseus)

Our first Common Potoo was seen in the Cloud Forest near Bellavista on our Trip to Ecuador in 2019. At the time, I didn't know this would be our last birding trip together. I do love the photo I took of John trying to get into a position to take a photo of the heavily camoflaged bird hiding in the trees.

Subsequently, I saw some Common Potoos in Costa Rica on my Photo Safari on the Osa Peninsula. The birds still have cool cammo making them look like lumps on a log, but otherwise were easy to see and photograph.
