Common Myna (Acridotheres tristis)

French Polynesia, Jun 1997 // South Africa, Nov, 2022

I took a photo of a Common Myna in Mangareva, French Polynesia on June 4, 1997 which was probably the first one I ever saw. This is where we met our "ride" to Pitcairn Island -- see our travel log: You Can't Get There From Here to read all about that adventure.

My "second" Common Myna was spotted on day one of my South Africa Birding & Wildlife Safari. There was one seen while leaving the airport, and another in the parking lot of our hotel in Johannesburg on November 6, 2022.

I saw several more during the South Africa trip. Here's Photo of one with a frog in Kruger.
