John's picture above of the bird's butt as he scurries back into the reeds is typical of what Sora sightings are like. Our first two encounters with soras were both "heard only" sightings, once in Yellowstone, and again in Cuba, both with expert guides.
Our Croton Point sighting was a lucky happenstance when we were looking for a Nelson's sparrow.
