First seen at Sherwood Island State Park in CT on November 21, 2015. We had no idea why all the cars were lined up to get in at opening time that day, but followed the people with scopes and cameras who pointed out this rare bird.
Subsequently, in late December, 2021, another Ash-throated Flycatecher decided to hang out in Rockwood Hall, much closer to home. After glimpsing it flying away earlier in the week, I had much more luck, and a some patience, and the bird came and perched next to me while I was standing on the trail.
