First seen in Cuba on February 20, 2016. This was during our CUBA: Birds, Bath, and Beyond trip with SMRA Audubon.
We saw several more a year and a half later on another SMRA birding trip to Texas in November 2017: Birding Along the Border
My first US sightings were in New Jersey in November 2021.
And two showed up near home at the Ossining Waterfront on June 8, 2023. I love the hairdo that reminds me of a Centauri from Babylon 5.
