These birds are usually found in the western US, but we saw reports of one up in Columbia County, NY, about an hour 45 minute drive for us. The bird was very cooperative, posing for pictures. It was also hanging out in a tree that happened to have a geocache hanging in it, but I did not disturb the bird to look for that.
